This is the tale of how Nabil’s journey led him to discover the hidden treasures of nature’s most precious commodity, Ambergris, and subsequently create ‘Ambergris Canadia’.
In the year 2004, a young and ambitious Nabil Valiulla embarked on a trip to Madagascar with the intention of purchasing Ambergris. Little did he know, fate had a different plan in store for him. After spending a staggering $13,000, Nabil was devastated to learn that the Ambergris he had bought was nothing but a counterfeit. To make matters worse, he had borrowed money for this venture, plunging him into debt. Faced with a tough decision, Nabil had two options: to abandon his dreams and settle for a mundane 9-5 job, or to forge ahead and chase after the real deal. He chose the latter and set his sights on New Zealand, where he eventually found a trustworthy exporter. From that point on, Nabil established a steady supply of authentic Ambergris, buying and selling it for six fruitful years until 2010.
Determined to turn his passion into a full-fledged business, Nabil founded Greenfield Atlantic Co. in 2011. His vision and drive caught the attention of Faisal Hawa, a private investor and mentor, who joined forces with Nabil in 2015. Together, they raised capital and propelled the business to new heights. Nabil’s quest for knowledge and connections led him to embark on a globetrotting adventure, visiting 51 countries. Along the way, he met fellow enthusiasts, scientists, and experts in various fields related to Ambergris, forging invaluable partnerships. Today, Nabil is a leading global trader of ethically sourced and traded Ambergris, exporting to eleven countries and importing from nine others. His mission spans continents, connecting people from all corners of the world.
Born and raised in the bustling metropolis of Mumbai, India, Nabil pursued a degree in Commerce at the University of Bombay. Currently residing in Vancouver, Canada, he has made it the headquarters of Greenfield Atlantic Co. Prior to settling in Canada, Nabil gained professional experience in India, Singapore, West Africa, and UAE. His dedicated team operates from various locations, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
When Nabil isn’t immersed in the world of Ambergris, he indulges in his other passions. Movies captivate his imagination, while he delves into the realm of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and drones, exploring their potential in reducing the reliance on human and animal efforts in Ambergris hunting. Furthermore, Nabil’s love for automobiles knows no bounds, and his expertise in Ambergris finds him sharing his knowledge as a guest lecturer at a prestigious university in British Columbia, enlightening students about its use and identification in the realm of perfumery.
